Nicky Hilton: Brit style is best

Nicky Hilton loves British women's sense of style, and says her type of fashion is all about having fun.

The hotel heiress has kept out of the media spotlight recently, and has been busy penning fashion book 365 Style, which reveals her personal tips on all things trend related.

Nicky now spends a lot of time in the UK thanks to boyfriend James Rothschild, a British banker, and loves to soak up the style on offer.

"The UK is more fashion conscious than the US. I love how British girls dress. They take more risks," Nicky confessed to British magazine Grazia.

"I'm obsessed with [shop] Accessorize's quirky socks. The cutest ones are covered in hearts, kitties and a million other sweet designs. My style has evolved but I still like to have fun."

While Nicky's older sister Paris has tried her hand at a number of professions, most recently DJing, Nicky has always been interested in clothes and is regularly spotted on the front row at Fashion Week shows.

"Our styles are night and day. Paris is all pink and glitter, super-girly. I don’t think I own anything pink!" Nicky laughed.

"I’m this California transplant living in New York City, so my style is very eclectic. It’s a mix of bohemian Cali beach girl with that downtown NY leather vibe."

Nicky, 30, has previously tried her hand at designing, and has created a bag, clothing and jewellery line in the past.

"Jewellery is so much fun to design because it’s such an investment for a woman’s wardrobe. Clothing trends come and go so quickly, but jewellery is something you keep forever. It’s timeless,” she previously said.

"I’m constantly inspired by other fashionable women. The glamorous style of Elizabeth Taylor was a huge influence for my jewellery collection.”
