Nicole Richie 'Dr. Seuss hair'
Nicole Richie's hair colourist has revealed details about the star's new purple locks.
The 32-year-old star dyed her locks lavender earlier this month and has shared several photos of her new look on her Instagram account.
Hair expert Danny Moon was the man behind Nicole’s dramatic transformation and he has nothing but praise for her decision.
“I compare Nicole’s lavender colour to the jacaranda trees that bloom in LA in the spring,” he explained to People.
“It transforms the streets into a page straight out of a Dr. Seuss book - but this is no comic book colour. Nicole wears it with class and elegance.”
It was a digitally altered photo that she uploaded at the end of last month which first triggered the former reality star to change her hair for real.
Danny was invited to take part in the process after Nicole called her hairstylist Andy Lecompte, who requested his salon’s guest artist Danny to help with the task.
“Nicole posted a picture on Instagram… of her with purple hair. The image was Photoshopped and never actually happened, but she looked great and received nothing but positive feedback after posting,” Danny recalled. “This planted the seed, so to say. Thanks, Instagram!”
Danny used Lecompte’s Chromasilk Vivids in Violet and Pastels in Mystical Mint dye to get the perfect shade.
Although the process took a long five fours, which the colourist says “flew by” while they awaited the finished result, Nicole was extremely pleased afterwards.
“[She said] ‘I love it’,” Danny smiled.
Nicole humoured her fans when she first unveiled her new purple hair. She posted a photo showing her vivid hair, accompanied with the caption: “About last night... (sic)”
