Nicole Richie: Fashion TV show was fun
Nicole Richie is glad she had a "blast" on Fashion Star, as she would have seen "no point" in doing it otherwise.
The reality TV star-turned designer is a celebrity judge and mentor on the hotly-anticipated NBC show alongside Jessica Simpson and John Varvatos.
Nicole loved working alongside her entertaining co-stars.
"Well, we shot the show last summer so we could have time to get the clothes made. But we had a blast. What's the point of doing anything if you're not going to have fun?" she mused in an interview with the LA Times.
"My dad used to tell me that all the time."
Fashion Star - hosted by Elle Macpherson - features 14 budding designers who compete to have their winning fashion collection available for purchase at Macy's, H&M or Saks Fifth Avenue.
Nicole has revealed what sets the series apart from other TV shows.
"Well, it's an extremely rare position that these designers have access to major buyers, week after week for ten weeks. For designers like myself, John and Jessica, we see these buyers once a season. They come to the showroom and they love it or they don't," she explained.
"And success in one season doesn't mean success in the next. So for the designers on our show, it's such an amazing chance to connect with the buyers each week."
