Nicole Richie: Purple hair, don't care
Nicole Richie doesn't feel any different now she has purple hair.
The 32-year-old star went down the purple-rinse route early last month and has been rocking the look at star-studded events ever since. Although the change of colour has altered her appearance dramatically, Nicole admits the swap hasn't affected her like she thought it would.
“Surprisingly, it feels like having blonde hair,” Nicole smiled to People. “My colourist Danny Moon, when I talked to him about it, he said, ‘I’m telling you, you’re not going to feel that different. Having purple hair has the same hue as having blonde hair, and you’re not going to feel that different.’ And he was actually right.”
Nicole, who has her own label, House of Harlow 1960, has previously pulled off brunette and platinum blonde tresses. With summer just around the corner Nicole revealed she may be switching the shade of her locks once again.
"You know what - I didn’t even know I was going to have purple hair until two days before I had it so it’s hard for me to say if I’m going to have it for summer or not. But we’ll see,” she teased.
Nicole spoke about her looks at a Lucky Fashion and Beauty Blog conference last month. When Lucky magazine's editor-in-chief Eva Chen quizzed Nicole about the inspiration behind her lavender locks, the former TV personality cited her daughter Harlow, who she has with rocker husband Joel Madden.
"I coloured my hair for my daughter. It's a lot of upkeep actually, but I'm very popular at her school. Everyone talks to me when I pick her up because they think I'm a character in Frozen. It's great!" she giggled.
