Nicole Richie to release 'classy' fragrance

Nicole Richie is set to launch her first fragrance, which will be "cool and classy".

The reality TV star already has a jewellery line and successful clothing and accessories collection.

Nicole now has her sights on the lucrative perfume industry, and will create her own fragrance with company TPR.

The 30-year-old star has signed a deal to launch her signature scent next September in department and specialty stores.

Brian Robinson, president of TPR, is thrilled to be working alongside the hard-working mother-of-two. He says that fans can expect a "cool, classy scent with an edge."

"[Nicole] has a wide breadth of creative talents being an author, a jewellery designer, a fashion designer and an aspirational figure," he told WWD.

"She also has three million Twitter followers but more importantly she has trade credibility. She's done a great job with her image."

Nicole first discussed a perfume partnership a year ago, but the timing wasn't right, Brian explained.

In October 2008, Nicole debuted her jewellery line, House of Harlow 1960. In 2010 the line was extended to include apparel and shoes.

In 2009, Richie joined maternity store A Pea in the Pod to create a new collection of maternity clothes. In February 2010, Nicole expanded her fashion business with a women's line called Winter Kate, her daughter's two middle names.
