Nina Dobrev swears by Turkish baths
Nina Dobrev likes to have a "Turkish bath" to prepare herself for award ceremonies.
The Vampire Diaries actress shared the pre-event beauty routine that she followed before last night's Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards in Los Angeles.
The actress swears by her relaxing pampering session and showed it had paid off as she walked the red carpet looking gorgeous in a hot pink, short-sleeved crepe gown from Elie Saab's Spring 2013 collection.
"I usually go to the Hammam [Turkish bath] in the morning to detox and freshen," Nina told InStyle.com at Entertainment Weekly's Pre-Screen Actor's Guild Party. "Then I get together with my hair and make-up team and my friends and myself, and we all just have a good time."
American actress Julie Benz loves the whole process of getting red carpet ready. The Dexter star likes the after-parties following awards ceremonies best, as she can be more free with her outfits.
"It's fun. It's glamorous. It's cool. We have a great time getting ready," Julie gushed to InStyle.com. "I love my [Amanda Wakeley] dress because it's a beautiful colour, and it's really simple cut but really sexy. It's cool!"
When it comes to the main event the stars have their own red carpet secrets to looking confident in front of the cameras. Nikki Reed masks nerves by using a clutch bag to hide awkward looking hands.
"I like to hold a bag on the red carpet because it gives me something to do with my hands when I'm nervous," Nikki told PEOPLE.
Jennie Garth confessed the key to looking lovely on the red carpet is to remember to pay as much attention to undergarments as your gown.
"I think it's important to wear underwear on the red carpet," Jennie joked to PEOPLE. "I think more celebrities should remember that."
