Olivia: I'm the shoe queen

Olivia Palermo thinks of herself as a shoe expert, and says walking in heels is second nature.

The American fashionista has teamed up with the luxury footwear label to design six different footwear styles.

She's close friends with the brand's creator Edgardo Osorio and says the collaboration came about organically.

"[The collection was inspired by] the key pieces in a girl's wardrobe. It's the perfect bootie, the barely there shoes - which every girl needs when you don't want it to look too busy on the foot - and a transitional thigh-high boot," Olivia explained to British magazine Grazia.

"I'm definitely an expert; I do enjoy shoes! I've never had any problems walking in heels - it's second nature, every woman can do it if they try."

Olivia has been soaking up the new season's trends at New York Fashion Week, which wrapped on Thursday.

The 28-year-old was spotted on the front row of Prabal Gurung, Carolina Herrera and Diane von Furstenberg, among others.

When it comes to choosing her front-row outfits, Olivia says the key to style success is not over planning.

"I don't put everything [on] head-to-toe beforehand but I limit myself to two or three suitcases and a carry-on, max," she smiled.

As fashion month gets under way, there's one city that ranks top for Olivia when it comes to new trends.

"London Fashion Week is my favourite. I really love all the designers: Emilia Wickstead, Matthew Williamson, Erdem, Pringle - and Whistles has done a really nice job.

"I also have tons of friends in London," she added.

London Fashion Week kicked off on Friday and runs until Tuesday.
