Olivia Munn: I went for worst dressed
Olivia Munn wishes she never had to try to look good on the red carpet.
The Newsroom star is normally known for looking gorgeous on the red carpet, but for the 2008 High Times Magazine's Stony Awards she broke several fashion rules by donning a garish shiny blue dress with ruched sleeves. Unlike many stars who want to be in magazines for the right reasons, Olivia was trying for a style flop.
"We got an award at G4 [for TV show Attack of the Show!] and I said, 'I want to make it on the worst-dressed list.' And then I did," she laughed to Allure magazine. "It was so exciting. It's so fun because you don't feel any insecurity. You don't care. If only I could joke on the red carpet like that all the time."
Olivia appeared on the small-screen in Attack of the Show! between 2006 and 2013. She's since scored roles including Chess Roberts in Iron Man and has attended Comic-Con events. However, dressing up as Princess Leia for one left her a little uncomfortable.
"I only did the gold bikini once, and I hated that because one, I probably should have been in a lot better shape, and two, when you're in public and you're in a bathing suit, they can take pictures from every single angle," she mused.
"[I wore] my version of the white robe, and I made it shorter and put on white boots, made it more current."
Olivia talked the magazine through some of her favourite style moments, picking a Versace Atelier dress she wore to the Vanity Fair Oscars party last year. Despite loving the flesh-baring number, she admits it was "very uncomfortable" and caused her to leave early.
