Olivia Palermo so chic, says designer

Emilia Wickstead has chosen some of her favourite designs worn by celebrities.

The New Zealand-born designer is a favourite amongst A-listers, and counts Diane Kruger, Alexa Chung and Britain's Duchess of Cambridge as loyal fans.

American star Olivia also rocks Emilia's chic designs to red carpet events, including the 2014 British Fashion Awards.

She accessorised a floor-length yellow front-slit skirt with a patterned black T-shirt and a pair of classic court shoes. Her long hair was worn poker straight and her eyes had a smoky finish.

"My silhouettes are feminine, but this T-shirt pared it down. She's got immaculate style - I love this understated look," Emilia gushed to British InStyle of Olivia's look.

Olivia has previously spoken about how much she enjoys Emilia's London Fashion Week shows, but she was absent from this year's presentation last week.

However the front row was still full of famous faces, with Daisy Lowe, Amber Le Bon and Alexa Chung all taking in the new season trends.

Another star who likes to don Emilia's designs is Girls actress Allison Williams.

The American beauty chose Emilia to dress her at last year's Vanity Fair Oscar Party. The floor length pink dress completely covered Allison from the front, but the back featured a large cut out detail. "The way she was styled was so fitting for the dress. She looked flawless and sophisticated," Emilia smiled.

Since hitting the big time with Girls, Allison is a regular on the red carpet. However she sometimes finds it painful to get dressed up for a big event.

"The shoes are always uncomfortable. I usually take, like, two Advil before doing carpets," she recently told People magazine. "I like to be really tall when I'm in a gown because it makes me feel confident and a little more powerful."
