Olsens launch Scandinavian line

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen launched their first fashion collection with Bik Bok yesterday.

The twin designers attended an event in Oslo, Norway, yesterday to mark their debut line going on sale. The 27-year-old stars used their own style as inspiration for their first line with the brand.

Describing the look as 'Scandinavian It Girl', the design duo have created three separate collections for the label for the fall season.

Mary-Kate and Ashley took part in a meet and greet with their Norwegian fans and signed autographs during the event.

The first collection includes a full wardrobe designed to be styled with layers, which reflects their personal style. Luxury materials have been used in the line including leather and wool jackets, angora knits, washed silk chiffon blouses and superfine jersey tops.

“Ashley and I are thrilled with our Fall 2013 Bik Bok collaboration. We feel the collection reflects our personal style and will connect with the Scandinavian girl,” Mary-Kate gushed on Bik Bok's website.

“We've enjoyed the design process with the Bik Bok team and are excited to visit Oslo and Stockholm to launch the first of three collections in August,” Ashley added.

Martin Lien, Marketing Director at Bik Bok, praised the sisters' creations.

“Mary-Kate and Ashley have for a long time been strong style icons and a source of inspiration for fashion conscious girls and Bik Bok. They are talented designers who recently won the prestigious CFDA Womenswear designer of the year award for The Row makes this collaboration a very exciting and strong project for us here at Bik Bok. The process and our experience with Mary-Kate and Ashley has been a true joy and we are very excited about the collections.
