Oprah Winfrey festive for premiere
Oprah Winfrey looked festive in green at the premiere of Selma.
The media mogul-and-actress hit the red carpet for Selma in a figure hugging ivy green sequin dress. The gown sat at a fashionable midi length, with the 60-year-old just showing a hint of her pins and her peep toed heels. Oprah rounded off her ensemble with a gorgeous waterfall jacket in the same hue as her dress.
The former talk show host, who plays civil rights activist Annie Lee Cooper in the American historical drama, wore her hair full and curly and kept her make-up neutral.
Also at the premiere was David Oyelowo, who starred alongside Oprah in The Butler and plays the lead role of Martin Luther King, Jr. in the latest flick.
The 38-year-old looked dapper in a light grey suit which he teamed with an ice blue tie.
The film's director Ava DuVernay also went for a festive look in a vibrant red floor-length gown which featured a gathered detail across her waist.
Another major star to attend the screening was legendary singer Aretha Franklin. The 72-year-old stood out in a leopard print coat which she wore over a black shift dress.
She added some extra glamour with multiple strings of pearls and a pair of glittering silver and black sandals. She had her hair coiffed in tumbling curls and carried a metallic Chanel bag.
Other stars to walk the red carpet included rapper Common, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Carmen Ejogo.
