Paris Jackson channels flower power in the spotlight
Paris Jackson’s stylist believes her fashion sense will continue to evolve with the trends.
Paris Jackson is a “flower child” on the red carpet.
The daughter of late singer Michael Jackson is paving her own path in the spotlight, landing countless fashion gigs and recently signing with IMG Models. Stylist Sonia Young works with the 19-year-old on most of her outfits and has nothing but praise for how Paris approaches dressing for both the spotlight and her downtime.
“She’s a flower child,” Sonia told WWD. “She’s a creature of comfort that wants to make a statement. She likes to wear stuff that reflects her personality, and she’s not gonna wear something that she doesn’t love.”
Further discussing her casual wardrobe the fashionista added: “She’s the most relatable girl of her generation. Who doesn’t go to Starbucks in their sweatpants and Uggs, you know? She’s so real.”
When it comes to what brands she likes to wear Sonia explained she and Paris pick pieces according to the model’s personal taste rather than the designer name, describing her look as an “eclectic mix”. As for what the future holds for Paris’ style, Sonia is looking forward to how her outlook will change as she gets older.
“She’s 19. I think it’s always gonna be evolving and I think fashion always is evolving. I don’t think we have a label where we want to go or what we want to achieve. I think we want to just stay true to who we are and keep creating beautiful looks and empowering young women and wearing great stuff,” the stylist smiled.
Paris is building her career in front of the camera after several small roles and is tipped to star in an upcoming biopic about popstar Madonna. Music could be on the cards too as the teenager often discusses her passion for songwriting.
