Paula Abdul: Love your body

Paula Abdul says that accepting and loving your body is "freedom".

The star explained she has learnt not to bow to the pressures of the entertainment industry and is happy in her skin.

The former X Factor USA judge added that she is comfortable with the ageing process and won't try to desperately battle against the call of nature.

"It has taken me a long time to accept that I am not as tall as I think I am. As I get older, I am more accepting of my body. I am not going to try to fight it and over-exercise and diet," she told WWD. "To me, that's freedom. I've learned to love my body more because it's the only one I got."

Paula also spoke about her style credentials.

The singer-songwriter revealed that she is in talks about creating her own fashion range with "undisclosed parties".

The 49-year-old star isn't known for being a style icon, but Paula insisted that she isn't getting the credit she deserves.

"I know a lot more about fashion than people realise," she said.
