Pharrell dances with Delevingne for Chanel
Pharrell Williams can be seen singing and dancing with Cara Delevingne in a short feature shot by Karl Lagerfeld.
The singer is known for his love of fashion and has collaborated with brand including Gap and Moncler in the past.
Now he appears alongside Britain's hottest new model for the short clip by creative director Karl Lagerfeld. In the video, multitalented Cara even flexes her vocal cords with Pharrell, 41, singing CC the World, a song he wrote especially.
The film accompanies Karl's Métiers d’art collection, which he will stage in Salzburg next week. Named Reincarnation, it focuses on a turning point in Gabrielle Chanel’s life.
During a stay at an Austrian resort in 1954, the designer fell in love with a hotel elevator operator's jacket. The contrasting trim and pockets ended up inspiring the Chanel jacket, a fashion classic.
Cara, 22, portrays Empress Elisabeth of Austria, also known as Princess Sisi, who comes alive from a painting hanging in the hotel. She proceeds to dance with Pharrell, who is also reincarnated as her husband Franz Joseph I of Austria.
"He was easy to work with, very pleasant. He’s very professional,” Karl enthused of his experience working with Pharrell.
Cara, who has scored several movie roles this year, is also known to be a budding musician with high hopes of forging a pop career.
“For her to start singing with Pharrell is not that bad, no?” the designer reasoned.
Karl added that the short clips he produces are a "modern way to communicate" and that he wouldn't have the patience to work on a feature-length film.
