Puff Daddy creating new scent for spring

Puff Daddy is set to release a further men's scent next year.

The 45-year-old star, real name Sean Combs, is no stranger to the world of scents, already boasting odours including Empress for women and I Am King Of The Night for men. And now WWD reports he is set to release a further product in late April or early May 2015 at department store Macy's.

The currently untitled scent marks his first new offering since Jacavi Worldwide/Parlux took over his fragrance license from Estée Lauder Cos. Inc.

Puff has been praised for his products in the past, winning Fragrance of the Year in the Men’s Luxe category at the 37th Annual FiFi Awards hosted by The Fragrance Foundation for scent Unforgivable. This fragrance is said to have raked in $100 million in global sales during its first year according to sources.

His beauty empire goes alongside his fashion ventures, such as clothing line Sean John. He has been recognised for his work in this area too when honoured in 2004 by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Macy's is the spot where his designs are sold and Puff previously explained his reasons behind choosing the iconic store.

"[Sean John is] a perfect brand for Macy’s. I love to make clothes that make people look good and have an aspirational quality to them," he explained to WWD earlier this year. "I can compete on some of my pieces with some of the top luxury brands and I take pride in that.”

The musician also spoke about how influential his image is and how he must live up to his reputation in the industry,

“They say I’m probably one of the top three recognised African-Americans around the world and the world is mostly brown," he added. "They get inspired by me, they see me doing things that no African-American man has done, from a clothing line to fragrances to a spirits company to a wellness water company to record companies, publishing companies and now a cable network."
