Rachel Bilson would pick Chanel to fill her closet over any other label.

The 31-year-old actress is best known for playing spoilt Summer Roberts in teen drama series The O.C., which ran from 2003 until 2007.

As well as her acting, Rachel is known for her impeccable sense of style.

Rachel covers the August edition of UK Cosmopolitan where she shared who her favourite designer is.

"If I had to stock my closet with one designer I think I would have to go with Chanel. Because you CAN'T go wrong with Chanel," she enthused.

"My style icons I like to draft from past and present."

The Hart of Dixie actress also talked about her top beauty tips. In a behind-the-scenes video from her cover shoot the flawless brunette revealed she likes to keep things simple.

"My desert island must is chapstick with SPF in it," she explained.

"I'd say wash your face every night before you go to bed, oh and I don't wash it in the morning, maybe that's my secret."

Rachel confessed to having many red carpet outfit disasters. Her biggest regrets are from the early days of her career.

"I mean, starting out it's not a pretty sight if you go back there… I thought I was cool when I was 21, [I wore] really bad knee-high vintage boots, with like, a jersey dress. I mean, I threw up a little bit right now," she laughed.

Rachel has been dating actor Hayden Christensen for six years. He's a fan of her sometimes quirky style choices.

"Boys don't always get trends, but he is open to offbeat things, so I'm lucky," she finished.
