Ralph Lauren honoured in NYC
Ralph Lauren was honoured in a lavish gala held at the Lincoln Center in New York last night.
Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey hosted Lincoln Center Presents: An Evening With Ralph Lauren, with stars flocking to be involved with the evening.
Among those to walk the navy carpet were Diane Von Furstenberg, Piers Morgan, Naomi Watts, Camille Belle and Uma Thurman.
All were keen to get a good seat for the evening's fashion show, where a number of cream and ivory gowns glistened as they came down the runway.
The main event saw Oprah talk to Ralph on stage in front of the guests, with the designer calling her the "the best interviewer in the world".
Among the subjects he opened up about was the importance of giving to charity.
"I've always wanted to give back," he mused. "There were times when I had nothing to give. As a company, we are working very hard to do our job and do our share We are conscious of philanthropy, and we are doing it for the right reasons, not for show."
Ralph also spoke about his inspirations. He is a huge fan of Frank Sinatra, and admitted he would love to have met John Kennedy.
He also revealed how he's managed to stay current for so long.
"You copy!" he laughed. "I've had 45 years of copying. That's how I made it."
