Redmayne: My wife said I was skinny
Eddie Redmayne’s new wife Hannah Bagshawe felt he looked too slim at the Los Angeles premiere of The Theory of Everything.
The 33-year-old actor won a Golden Globe Award on Sunday night for his portrayal of legendary physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. But when his new bride Hannah Bagshawe saw him at a screening for the movie, she worried he wasn’t feeding himself properly in Los Angeles.
“My wife saw some photos of me at the L.A. premiere, and she's like, ‘Ed, you're looking underweight,’” he told actress Jennifer Lawrence, who asked him questions for Interview magazine.
But Eddie had seemingly become accustomed to the Hollywood way of life, swapping out carbohydrates for Japanese delicacies. He says he assured her he was keeping himself healthy.
“I said, ‘Baby, I've got loads of sushi and juices,’ and she was like, ‘That's not what I'm talking about! I'm talking a f**king gigantic bowl of spaghetti Bolognese and a burger!’”
Although life has obviously changed for the British star, he feels he’s a pretty normal guy at home. Reality TV and piano are among his hobbies when he’s not acting.
“I come home from trying to pretend to know about astronomy and physics all day and turn on The Real Housewives,” he admitted. “What do I do? I don't know. I'm really sh*t at the piano. I play the piano. I occasionally try to pretend to paint, again, badly.”
Eddie has plenty to be excited about lately. In addition to his Golden Globe success, his wedding took place only weeks earlier on December 15 in Somerset, England.
