Rihanna debuts waist-length majestic dreadlocks
For her latest hair update, singer Rihanna has had her tresses made into very long dreadlocks.
Rihanna has traded in her sleek strands for waist-length, majestic dreadlocks.
The Work singer has sported just about every hairstyle imaginable over the past few months, from a blunt blonde bob to super-long extensions.
But for her latest hair update, Rihanna has decided to try out very long dreadlock extensions.
The 28-year-old unveiled her new look on Instagram on Monday night (03Oct16), posting a black and white mirror selfie which shows her hair cascading down her back. She paired her mane makeover with an oversized long-sleeve Kanye West tour T-shirt and lace-up jeans, looking over her shoulder into a bedroom mirror as she snapped the shot.
She captioned the photo “buffalo $oldier”, in reference to Bob Marley's song of the same name.
Buffalo Solider remains one of the late Jamaican reggae singer’s most popular hits and features the line, “Said he was a Buffalo Soldier/ dreadlock Rasta/ Buffalo Soldier, in the heart of America”.
It’s unclear whether her new look is for a shoot or just for fun, but regardless Rihanna’s totally rocking the look. Though this isn’t the first time she has worn dreadlocks.
Back in May 2012, the Bajan beauty also sported the style, sharing an Instagram snap of herself lying in bed with dreads and giving a sultry look. "Wake bake shake dem dreads," she wrote alongside it.
Last week (ends02Sep16), Rihanna presented her second presentation for her Fenty x Puma fashion line, as part of Paris Fashion Week. For the show, which took place at the swanky Hotel Salomon de Rothschild, the star had her longer locks styled in a poker straight style that was gathered into a sleek low ponytail. And she impressed critics with her range of streetwear, which included her twist on Puma's signature sweatshirts, track pants, baseball hats and other apparel in a host of girlish pastel colours, such as off-white, green and soft pink.
