Rihanna: I test my style

Rihanna likes to buy weird clothes so she can figure out how to make them look good.

The Barbadian singer has strong links to fashion as well as music and has previously designed her own collection with British high street retailer River Island.

Rihanna is also no stranger to fronting campaigns, and she was recently unveiled as the newest face of Dior.

She takes great pride in her appearance and never approaches fashion half-heartedly.

"I feel fashion is another way to tell people who you are. It's another way to tell people how you feel, without saying a word. You can tell a lot about a person by their style. My style is very free. It's fearless, it's spontaneous, it's risky. It's daring," she pointed out to British magazine Grazia.

"I love taking a challenge. I tend to buy things that are weird and I think, 'I would never wear this.' I buy those things because the challenge is figuring out how to wear them."

Rihanna has no problem showing off her enviable figure and often chooses risqué clothes. She also favours block colours and prints, recently opting for a jade green Adam Selman dress and cardigan combo that was covered in black bows for a photo call for her new film Home.

The animated flick also features the vocal talents of Jim Parsons, Steve Martin and Jennifer Lopez. On the red carpet Rihanna spoke about her joy at the Dior appointment, which marks the first time a black woman has represented the brand.

"It doesn't feel real. It seems impossible almost," she admitted to ET.
