Rihanna makes a splash in furry red heart cape
The R&B star wanted to be noticed on the streets of New York City over the Labor Day weekend, sporting a bright red Saint Laurent heart coat.
Rihanna is playing to the media's obsession with her and Drake's romance, sporting a bright red heart cape on the streets of New York.
More than a fashion statement, Rihanna's decision to wear her heart on more than her sleeve suggests her red-hot romance with One Dance rapper Drake is very much on.
Unfortunately her rumoured beau wasn't in sight as Rihanna wore the showstopping $15,500 (£11,655) cape with short denim shorts and high-heeled black sandals in the city that never sleeps, exactly a week after Drake presented her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards and professed his love for her.
“We love the woman who hasn’t changed since day one, he beamed, gazing at his reported lover. "She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22-years-old. She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life, I’ve looked up to her even though she’s younger than me. She’s a living breathing legend in our industry."
If the Work singer was hoping to quell rumours of the pair's romance, she clearly failed, even wearing the same outfit the following morning to feed birds on a New York street. An amused friend was on hand to record the moment, captioning her Snapchat post: "Seriously? I'm walking down the street and see this big red heart feeding birds."
Drake and Rihanna kissed onstage in Miami last Wednesday (31Aug16) and the couple also debuted matching shark tattoos in the past week (beg29Aug16), further fuelling the romance rumours. Rihanna's regular tattoo artist Keith McCurdy, better known as Bang Bang, posted an image of the camouflage shark on her ankle, and fans were quick to note it closely resembled a stuffed camouflage shark Drake bought for her during an August (16) date at Toronto's aquarium.
When Drake performed in New Orleans, Louisiana on Friday night (02Sep16), he sported his own version of the tattoo on his right inner arm.
