Rita Ora wanted Mercury's moustache
Rita Ora used to have a rather unusual style dream.
The 24-year-old singer is known for pushing the boundaries, not only with her outfits but her beauty looks and hairstyles too. And when asked who inspired her personal taste, Rita chose the bold styling of late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury as her ultimate icon.
"Growing up, I loved Freddie Mercury - I even wanted a moustache!" she laughed to British magazine Closer. "I also adored people like David Bowie and Tina Turner. It was all about big hair and lots of make-up - it really inspired me to love fashion."
And her passion for fashion has paid off, after landing collaborations with the likes of sports brand Adidas and cosmetics giant Rimmel. She has also appeared in campaigns for high-end labels including Roberto Cavalli and DKNY.
But away from her luxury lifestyle Rita loves nothing more than to wear clothing which has a story behind it.
"Yeah [I've always been into fashion] - when I was younger, I would mix and match all kinds of clothes - I'd put a £2 T-shirt with vintage pieces. It's all about how you wear it," she grinned.
"Yes, I love vintage T-shirts! And I've kept a really old Céline Dion tee that I bought for £2.50 years ago - it's so cool, I still really love it!"
Earlier this month Rita was thrilled when offered the role of L'Officiel Paris magazine's cover girl, gracing the front page of its February issue. She poses in a blonde wig with a blunt fringe and rocks winged eyeliner, reflecting the vibe of the shoot.
"Thank you L'OFFICIEL Paris for making me February's cover girl! #70'sbaby @lofficielparis (sic)," the she posted on Twitter upon sharing the snap.
