Roksanda Ilincic can't pick her favourite celebrity client

Roksanda Ilincic

Roksanda Ilincic “loves” Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge and Cate Blanchett and can’t choose between them as clients.

The royal is currently on a three-week tour with her husband Prince William and their son Prince George. They jetted from New Zealand to Australia today, with Catherine stepping off the plane in a bright yellow dress by Roksanda.

Actress Cate also opted for the designer at the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards last month – in a burgundy, peach and sky blue gown - with Roksanda equally as pleased with both looks.

“I definitely love Kate and Cate - well, actually I have many Kate's wearing my dress,” she told vogue.com.au. “I can't pick a favourite celebrity look because each of them were quite special. What makes me proud about them are how different these great women are in the public eye, either from being actresses or public figures.”

While Roksanda was pleased with the duchess’ look, her husband wasn’t quite so enamoured. After arriving in Sydney in her above-the-knee, bold yellow dress, the royal admitted William had told her she looked like a “banana”.

For the designer, what’s most important is that stars from many different backgrounds can don her pieces and look stylish. She has fans in the shape of US First Lady Michelle Obama, Kate Hudson, Nicole Richie, Thandie Newton, Lady Gaga and Björk.

“They have such different lifestyles but then they manage to fit their own personality to whatever they're wearing and add it to my clothing as well. So I guess they're all important and dear to me,” she explained.
