Rosario Dawson: I love kids' fashion

Rosario Dawson is glad she didn't fall over when she recently walked in Naomi Campbell's charity fashion show.

The American actress likes nothing more than to relax in child-like clothes, which are a world away from the sleek glamour she rocks on the red carpet.

"When I’m feeling really happy I dress like I did when I was little, which was a bit like the sitcom character Punky Brewster, with print on print and lots of colourful layers," she smiled to ES Magazine.

As an actress Rosario is a regular at showbiz events and red carpet engagements. She recently wowed at Voto Latino's tenth anniversary, celebrating the work Voto Latino do helping young Latinos claim a better future.

Charity is an important part of the 35-year-old's life, and as well as her philanthropic project Studio One Eighty Nine which helps promote African culture, she also recently walked in Naomi Campbell's Fashion for Relief show.

"I wore Alexander McQueen to walk for Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief show in New York last month. Naomi’s walk could be patented. I was just happy I didn’t faceplant," she laughed.

"Everyone was really game. Kelly Osbourne was walking around backstage in an amazing outfit by Thom Browne covered in spiky feathers, saying, ‘Mind the bird!’"

Rosario can often be seen on the front row of fashion shows and has taken in Desigual, Temperley London and Tommy Hilfiger during previous seasons.

However, her favourite catwalk collection was about more than just clothes.

"One of the best fashion shows I’ve been to was Opening Ceremony last September. Spike Jonze and Jonah Hill put on a play about putting on a fashion show, while models walked the catwalk," she recalled.
