Ryan Seacrest: Men need style tips too

Ryan Seacrest

Ryan Seacrest often gets approached by women asking where he buys his suits from.

The 39-year-old star is launching a range of tailored suits for department store Macy's. Called the Distinction collection, the line will also feature furnishings by Randa Accessories and pieces from Peerless Clothing and PVH.

One of the key things Ryan aimed for is to help take away the guesswork for guys looking to buy a smart two-piece after witnessing confusion himself.

“Guys don’t ever ask anybody for fashion advice... I think we don’t even know what to ask. We often don’t even know what size we wear!” he mused to People.

“A lot of women will ask me, ‘Where can I get a suit? I see you on TV, I like the cut, where can I get a suit like that for my boyfriend?' [Guys] just don’t know where to find certain things or how to find them, and what I wanted to do in this collection was to make it pretty easy and one-stop and turnkey.”

He may be admired for his dapper style now, but it took Ryan a while to get to this point. There are a few outfit fails which stand out for the radio and TV star.

“I looked back at some pictures recently of me at the Teen Choice Awards when I was in a coral shirt back in ’04,” he recalled. “Then there was a bedazzled collar at another red carpet. When you go back and look at old red carpets, I’ve made plenty of fashion mistakes!”

Asked what the secret is to pulling off the perfect suit, Ryan shared his advice on how men should feel.

“Own it. Put it on, stand outside, go on that first date or first meeting and own it," he added. "I think that’s most important, to have that confidence that it looks good on you.”
