Salma Hayek reveals royal beauty icon

Salma Hayek has revealed her ultimate beauty icon is Britain's Duchess of Cambridge.

The actress launched her own beauty range, Nuance, two years ago.

Salma shared her inspiration for the line as well as revealing which celebrity's complexion she admires the most.

"I wanted to give everyone access to the good stuff," Salma explained to Style.com about her line. "[My beauty icon is] Kate Middleton [she's] so natural. Both her manner and style are effortlessly beautiful. Also, she always seems to be in a good mood. It might not be true, but at least it is pleasant to see her smile."

The stunning brunette listed two products from her range as her favourites for getting flawless skin. She says the Lights, Camera, Action Eye Trio is the perfect base upon which she likes to use the Flawless Wear Tinted Moisturiser for a natural looking alternative to foundation.

"Because I don't have a lot of contour at the top of my lip, I use a highlighter on the edges of my upper lip to give them a lift. Even though [this] highlighter is usually for the eye, I put it on the top of my lip as if it was a lip liner. Underneath the line, you fill the rest with lipstick. This brings more attention to the lip, and it's a very sexy trick! We are all artists and can all make our faces our canvas," Salma explained. "In my opinion, the purpose of foundation is to look like you have no foundation on, as if you just woke up. This tinted moisturiser is so transparent, it's like you were just born with perfection!"

Salma likes to use a combination of fragrances in her beauty routine. She named Narciso Rodriguez For Her Eau De Toilette as one which has special meaning to her, as well as Balenciaga's Florabotanica scent for aesthetic reasons.

“I remember when Narciso - who is a good friend of mine - was working on developing a perfume. He knows I love fragrance, and he used me as a tester, making me choose between three different kinds. I'm glad he picked the one I liked, because I have been wearing it all these years," she gushed.

"I like to wear more than one fragrance. When I saw the bottle of Florabotanica, I thought it was the most beautiful bottle I had ever seen, so I had to have it. It's a good thing I fell in love with the smell, too."
