Sandra Choi reveals the shoe Jennifer Hudson and Karolina Kurkova wore to the 2015 Oscars was Jimmy Choo's most popular style this year.

The creative director of Jimmy Choo is often the go-to designer for stars looking for the perfect pair of red carpet shoes.

Because of Jimmy Choo's strong celebrity links the brand set up an Oscars suite 16 years ago, where stylists and stars head in order to procure shoes for the main event.

"[The craziest red carpet moment I've had] I think it has to be back when we first held the Oscar suite in 1999. We didn’t know what to expect and who would turn up. There was a moment when I was in the suite on my own and I remember this beautiful but very unassuming young woman coming in and having a look around, she then asked if she could buy the shoes we had on display. She was charming, and it wasn’t till she left that I realised it was Angelina Jolie," Sandra recalled to The Hollywood Reporter.

During awards season Jimmy Choo shoes are seen at numerous events, and were a particular favourite at the 2015 Academy Awards.

While styles come and go, some stick out as celebrity favourites, and this year was no different.

"It changes slightly each year. This year we introduced the Minny — a minimal double strap single sole sandal with 115mm heel — which has proved to be the most popular style by a long way, gracing the red carpet more than 19 times this season. The Patsy 145mm platform sandal is also popular, followed by the Claudette," Sandra revealed.

Jennifer Hudson and Karolina Kurkova both rocked the Minny at this year's Oscars, while Amy Adams and Reese Witherspoon opted for the Patsy.

"I think the success of the Minny comes down to the simplicity of its graceful and feminine silhouette, it complements statement red carpet gowns so perfectly, as opposed to competing for attention. The Patsy is similar but with the added height boost from the platform," Sandra mused.
