Sarah Jessica Parker: Heels are easier to wear

Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that after years of stepping out in heels she finds sensible shoes uncomfortable.

The Sex and the City star is famed for her love of sky-high shoes in both her everyday life and in the award-winning series.

As a result Sarah now finds running in high heels "very natural" and has admitted that she struggled when wearing lower shoes for her new movie I Don't Know How She Does It.

"It was very hard, despite them being the first sensible heel height I've worn in years. Afterwards my foot really hurt and I said to Matthew [Broderick - her husband], 'I think the chickens have come home to roost - I think my foot is finally saying "I surrender!"'" she quipped in an interview with UK magazine Grazia.

I Don't Know How She Does It follows the life of busy working mum Kate Reddy, played by Sarah.

The 46-year-old star had to get used to the character's attire throughout filming.

"In this movie we were so mindful about Kate's wardrobe being appropriate, we only bought $39 shoes, so I was running on cobblestones, wearing stockings" she said.
