Scherzinger: I don’t deprive myself

Nicole Scherzinger says when it comes to her diet, she doesn’t deprive herself of anything – but just eats everything in moderation.

The 36-year-old singer is world famous for her slim figure. However, Nicole says she doesn’t maintain her svelte frame with fad diets, and instead adopts a sensible approach to her eating plan.

“I don’t deprive myself of anything,” Nicole told People.com. “I have everything in moderation.”

As well as healthy eating, Nicole sticks to an intense, regular exercise regime which sees her work up a sweat in activities such as hot yoga and spinning.

Nicole also revealed her secret tip for getting slimmer quickly if she has a big shoot or event coming up.

“When I’m really watching my weight, I refrain from eating late at night,” she said.

Nicole’s interview with People also saw her document a day in her diet. Breakfast consists of greek yoghurt, agave nectar and granola, while lunch is sliced turkey, swiss cheese and a small salad. Nicole finishes her day with a dinner of gluten free pasta with tomato and basil sauce.

She also supplements her daily diet with snacks such as pineapple and blueberries, and six to eight glasses of water.

And dietitian Keri Glassman told People that Nicole is the epitome of a “healthy, clean eater”.

“She eats all real foods in a very structured way and allows herself an indulgence so she doesn’t feel deprived and doesn’t binge. I am impressed!” Keri, from NutritiousLife.com, added.

However, Keri did have some suggestions for how Nicole could change up her breakfast choice.

“Nicole’s breakfast looks pretty delish and healthy,” Keri said. “But since Nicole is getting sugar from the honey and banana, she doesn’t need the granola. Better to just throw some nuts or seeds in for a little crunch.”
