Schoolgirl heading for model stardom

Zoe Barber: Catwalk hopeful

A Londonderry teenager is on the brink of a glittering catwalk career having been picked from over 3,000 hopefuls to take part in a prestigious modelling competition.

Zoe Barber (18) will be taking part in the Grand Finals of Top Model UK 2010 next Saturday and Sunday in London at the Hilton Metropole.

If she wins, the Foyle and Londonderry College pupil will win a year long contract with Impact Model Management based in London.

Zoe will be competing in the Runway and Editorial section of the competition along with Lurgan teenager Louise Harrison who also came through the selection process at the end of November.

Zoe said: “The finals are next Saturday, so it is getting pretty close. I saw an advert and I thought I might as well apply. I've been doing some modelling for about the last year and a half.”

“I was shortlisted for an interview in Lurgan and then I got a call at the start of December.”

The Grand Final consists of three categories: Runway and Editorial, Commercial and Classic.

She added: “Winning this would really be a kick-start for a career in modelling.”
