Selena Gomez supports stylist at award ceremony
American star Selena Gomez put on a brave face while supporting her stylist Kate Young at an awards ceremony on Monday (26Oct15), days after the death of her make-up artist Jake Bailey.
Pop star Selena Gomez found attending Monday (26Oct15) night's InStyle Awards difficult following the death of her friend, but was determined to support her stylist Kate Young.
The 23-year-old beauty graced the black carpet of the Los Angeles ceremony in a monochrome Louis Vuitton ensemble, made up of a mesh top and puffball skirt. While she put on a smile for the cameras, Selena was mourning the loss of her make-up artist pal Jake Bailey. The celebrity cosmetics artist was found unconscious in his SUV last Friday (23Oct15) from an apparent suicide. Despite the sad circumstances, Selena made sure she was present to honour Kate, who was named Stylist of the Year, at the bash.
"It was kinda hard to go out tonight but I would do anything for@kystyle -she deserves the award of the night at #InStyleAwards she makes us ladies feel beautiful always x (sic)" Selena wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself with Kate and actress Dakota Johnson.
It wasn't just Kate and Dakota who Selena cosied up to during the event; she was also snapped with fashion designer Nicolas Ghesquière and actress Michelle Williams. Other honourees on the night included Gwyneth Paltrow, who was presented with her Style Icon accolade by Kate Hudson.
Selena first met her stylist around a year and a half ago, when they were introduced through mutual friends. Since then they've worked on everything from red carpet outfits to performance costumes together and Kate enjoys every minute in Selena's presence.
"She's so busy - when I get time with her, we try to fit as many outfits as we can," Kate recently gushed to instyle.com. "It's so much fun - she's full of light and enthusiasm; it's really exciting to be a part of the (revival)."
Revival is the title of Selena's second solo album, released earlier in October (15).
