Sharon Osbourne: Hair dyeing is hard

Sharon Osbourne says maintaining her signature red locks is a "nightmare".

The TV star is famed for her head-turning hair hue, which involved a lot of up-keep. Sharon says keeping the colour looking so glamorous is no easy feat.

"I'm naturally auburn, reddish brown. My Irish mother was reddish. But keeping it now with these roots is a nightmare," she told the New York Post.

"I'm handy combing it, but I must go to the hairdresser for colour every ten days."

Sharon is renowned for being freely open about her extensive cosmetic surgery, including a facelift and tummy tuck. The 59-year-old star says everyone should be allowed to improve on their looks if they feel the need.

"None of us is perfect. Sorry now and again, I must fix up something sometimes and apologise if I've gone too far," she said.

"Happens. I'm no pushover. So I apologise graciously, which you need do - especially at my age."

Sharon recently had her breast implants removed. The star took a brief hiatus from her show The Talk in September to spend time with her husband Ozzy Osbourne. She spent her free time altering her chest.

"[T]he only time [Ozzy and I] left our house was when I had my [breast] implants taken out," she revealed in October. "One morning I woke up and one of my boobies was kind of much longer than the other. So I'm thinking, this isn't right.

"[The implant] leaked into the wall of my stomach."
