Shay Mitchell included positive affirmations in her clothing line so the items have a “ripple effect on the rest of the day” for those who wear them.

The 28-year-old actress has teamed up with Kohl’s to create her “athleisure” range, which includes items such as sports bras, leggings and T-shirts.

And the Pretty Little Liars actress has included various additions to make her Fit to Wander line unique.

“I wanted to add my special touch and put these little positive affirmations on the inside of all the pieces that I designed,” she told “In the sports bras, I have this quote, ‘strong women lift others up,’ or ‘travel, explore, create.’ Just different kind of quotes that I feel are really cool because then when you’re putting on clothes, you can look at it and that can have a ripple effect on the rest of your day.”

Shay is a keen athlete herself, and lives in low-key workout clothes. So when it came to designing her own range, Shay knew she wanted to work around the issues she has found with other ranges.

“When I was designing the line [for Kohl's], I really wanted things to sit a little bit better that what I was used to,” she added. “Sports bras usually cut me off around the armpit area, or pants were a little too low, and they would fall down, so I did the pants with a higher hemline that you could fold up or fold down. Then I did the sports bras a little bit longer at the bottom, and then they were wider set so they wouldn’t cut you off in that arm area that we all hate. I was just trying to create something that would fit everybody, and not just one body type.”
