SJP: Designing with Fendi’s an honour
Sarah Jessica Parker “so loved” having the opportunity to work with Fendi on a handbag to be auctioned for charity.
The Sex and the City actress had the chance to design a bag with one of her alter ego’s favourite designers for charity. The 49-year-old was over the moon to have the opportunity to work with the Italian fashion house’s team as well as produce something that would help a good cause.
“It's been a thrill and an honor to work alongside Silvia Fendi and the entire @Fendi team to create my very own version of the iconic Baguette,” she wrote on Instagram Tuesday. “And I so loved having the opportunity to visit the archives in Rome to help me get started on the creative process.”
In the accompanying photograph, the mother-of-three can be seen looking over a selection of samples in the design studio alongside the brand’s creative director Silvia.
While the finished result is yet to be seen, ever the professional, Sarah Jessica was quick to make sure her followers knew how to try and get their hands on her one-of-a-kind creation.
“The bag will be auctioned off this February with proceeds going to the Brain Trauma Foundation: braintrauma.org,” she added.
The Failure to Launch star isn’t the only famous face getting the opportunity to work with the brand. Rihanna, model Jourdan Dunn, comic-and-actress Rachel Feinstein and author-and-fashion-blogger Leandra Medine were also announced to be involved in the project earlier this month.
Proceeds from the five designs will go to different charities, each a personal choice of the famous designer. The bags will be revealed next month at a cocktail party hosted by Silvia, Karl Lagerfeld and chairman and chief executive officer Pietro Beccari.
