Sofía Vergara goes blonde

Sofía Vergara

Sofía Vergara has taken to Instagram to show off her lighter locks.

The gorgeous Modern Family star is known for her curvaceous figure and flowing brunette hair, but recently revealed her locks are naturally fair.

It seems the 40-year-old actress has decided to embrace her blonde mane, taking to Instagram to show off her newly-dyed look.

"Blond ambitions!! Gracias to the amazing Kelly Klain Im ready for summer! (sic)," Sofía posted, adding a snap of her lighter look.

The picture shows the beauty sitting in a car with her gorgeous hair covering half of her face.

On the half that is visible, Sofía is sporting a natural make-up look, with just a subtle coat of brown mascara and a slick of pink lipstick.

Relaxing in a slouchy grey sweater, she does show off the beauty look of the season - statement eyebrows, highlighted thanks to a clever make-up pencil.

Fans seemed impressed with the actress' new look.

"You look amazing the color makes you look even younger than u are (sic)," one posted, while another added: "You are beautiful with everything that you do!! (sic)."

Hailing from Columbia, the star says her blonde hair put people off when she first started acting.

Being from the country meant people were often expecting something else.

"I'm a natural blonde, but when I started acting, I would go to auditions, and they didn't know where to put me because I was voluptuous and had the accent - but I had blonde hair," she previously told Self magazine.

"The moment I dyed my hair dark, it was, 'Oh, she's the hot Latin girl.'"
