Zuhair Murad has revealed the details of Sofía Vergara's wedding dress.

Sofía Vergara's wedding dress was designed to show off her "beautiful curves".

Sofía wore a stunning gown by Zuhair Murad as she sashayed down the aisle at her wedding to Joe Manganiello on November 22 (15). The strapless, floor length, dress had approximately 11lbs of sequins, 6.6lbs of pearls and 350 crystals encrusted on it.

"She’s very much in control of her image," Zuhair told "She knows how to dress for her figure, choosing the designs that enhance her hourglass shape and show her marvellous curves.

“It’s a fitted dress because we wanted to see her beautiful curves, but at the same time there is the removable outerskirt so later on she can remove the ball gown skirt. We wanted something very spectacular and grandiose.”

The dress took a total of 1,657 hours to complete, with 32 ateliers working on the design. The gown was very much a collaborative effort between the Modern Family actress and Zuhair, with the finished article stunning her wedding guests. What makes the dress even more amazing is the fact that Sofía and Zuhair never even met.

"We [didn’t] have an occasion to meet because of our busy schedules, so we worked very closely on a daily basis for the realisation of the gown, from the early stages, like the sketches, to embroidery samples, the fitting - everything was done in collaboration with both my team and her team," Zuhair explained.

"We spoke over the phone several times, and she explained to me what she likes and what she was dreaming about. I know very well her style, and so I wanted something very special, very sexy, and at the same time very classic, because it’s a wedding gown.”
