Stars ‘warned to cover up at Grammys’
Rihanna and other stars have reportedly been warned to cover up at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.
American television network CBS is airing the bash this Sunday and, according to reports, has put strict guidelines in place, dictating what the guests of honour can and cannot wear.
With many stars known to go all-out for the ceremony, it begs the question what more daring nominees such as Rihanna will wear.
One of the rules in place reportedly states attendees must ensure "buttocks and breasts are adequately covered" and understand that "thong-type costumes are problematic".
At last year’s ceremony the Barbadian pop princess sported a black Giorgio Armani gown, with a plunging neckline, thigh-high split and low back.
For the 2013 event, the "bare fleshy under curves of the buttock" and the "under curvature of the breasts" are apparently off limits.
The guidelines apply to stars appearing on stage as well as those in the audience and allegedly note that the trend for sheer fabrics should be “avoided”, while brand names and logos are also banned.
Last year’s ceremony saw the usually bold Katy Perry cover up in a vintage-style, floor-length Elie Saab gown.
The Firework singer may need to make a similar wardrobe choice for this year’s festivities.
Joining Rihanna with daring outfits last year was Fergie, who showed her underwear in a see-through Jean Paul Gaultier number that left little to the imagination.
Other notable outfits over the years have included Jennifer Lopez, who wore a jungle-print Versace dress in 2000.
The frock featured a neckline that dipped down so low it showed off her belly button.
The Grammys take place on February 10 and will feature performances from Rihanna as well as fun., Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift.
