Thandie Newton stars in Vuitton shoot
Thandie Newton is the new star of Louis Vuitton's Double Exposure project.
The British actress was photographed for the project by Tom Craig, and the pictures show the stunning star wearing a variety of looks from the Vuitton autumn/winter 2011 collection.
In the portraits, Thandie is surrounded by some of her most treasured possessions.
The project includes two images. One is a portrait using a 19th Century photographic technique where the subject poses for 12 seconds and creates a "counterbalance to today's disposable media culture".
The other is a portrait showing Thandie's inner self where the props used reveal their possessions and the story behind them. Thandie chose to be photographed with items including a teddy bear created by her eldest daughter, her passport, and a painting from her childhood.
"The images really take you into the heart of history itself. To parallel that we're getting into the history of me through the items I've chosen," Thandie explained. "One of the things about these photographs is the layers of meaning. Each picture is so unique so it just creates this desire to be my most essential self."
Louis Vuitton have also made a film of Thandie, donning a selection of pieces from the highly acclaimed autumn/winter 2011 collection.
'Double Exposure' launches on the Louis Vuitton Facebook page on September 8.
