Thandie Newton: Temperley is chic

Thandie Newton describes her favourite Alice Temperley design as "chic glamour".

The British actress has been tapped by Temperley London to feature on their relaunched website.

Thandie shared her thoughts on her favourite ensembles by the designer as part of the website's profiles on stars who sport their styles.

"I felt amazing in this; chic glamour. Temperley is always classy with a bit of rock and roll," Thandie told the US edition of Elle.

Thandie glittered in the sequined dress at the premiere of Good Deeds in Los Angeles in February 2012 and added a cool quiffed hairstyle to finish the look.

In April this year the actress wore a more feminine crimson satin ribbon Temperley London top and matching skirt to the Rouge movie photocall at the Cannes Film Festival.

"[This is] the most glorious T-shirt and skirt ever created," she said about the look.

Thandie also gushed about the designer's pastel blue dress she wore to a BAFTA event in Los Angeles.

"I love this powder blue. The sheer panelling gave the Grace Kelly demure quality a sexy edge," Thandie added.

The natural beauty has spoken before about only wearing clothes that suit her. She would never promote a label or designer unless she genuinely enjoyed wearing their creations.

“The idea of following trends makes my palms sweaty,” she explained to People. “I think that we have all these wonderful things available, [and] you have to find whatever speaks to you in terms of style - something that allows you to then speak to the world.”
