The Kardashians enjoy ‘playing around’ with their hair
The Kardashians’ hair stylist Jen Atkin loves that the girls allow her to “play around” with their famous tresses.
The Kardashians pull from “a bunch of different references” for their hair styles.
Jen Atkin frequently works as hair stylist for Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and their half sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
The family rarely put a foot wrong when it comes to their appearances, and Jen thoroughly enjoys the fact that she is able to experiment with their tresses.
“The girls I work with all have different styles, and I love that about them, so inspiration-wise we're always pulling from a bunch of different references. Like, Khloe loves fun, blogger hair,” Jen told IntoTheGloss.com. “I look at Fashion Gone Rouge for Kim because she likes her hair to look more editorial. Kourtney is classic, Ali MacGraw, that kind of thing.
“Kendall is no-fuss, five minutes, and Kylie loves long hair one day, short hair the next day. People like to express different personalities with makeup and clothes, but they're more timid with hair. It’s fun for me because I feel like my clients really like to play around.”
Jen has become one of the most famous names in her industry due to her work with celebrity clients such as the Kardashians.
But when it comes to her own look, she is often very low key as she focuses all her time on other people.
“When I go out, I'm usually the last person to get ready, because I'm getting other people ready for whatever we're going to,” she laughed.
“My own hair is often in a tight bun, because it's usually dirty and I like that kind of tight facelift.”
As well as working for the Kardashians, Jen is a huge fan of many of their beauty and hair products – such as the Kardashian Beauty Hairspray.
“It’s really strong,” Jen gushed of the product. “I spray that on a toothbrush to tame any flyaways or unruly hairs. Sleek hair is definitely my go-to nighttime look - nothing is better to me than a smooth, low bun, with a choker.”
