Vanessa Paradis has 'cool' style

Vanessa Paradis "oozes cool", says Ganni creative director Ditte Reffstrup.

The Dutch label uses a mixture of four fashion icons for inspiration while designing their clothing collections - Vanessa, Kirsten Dunst, Audrey Hepburn and Jean Seberg.

Ditte says the stars are classic examples of trend-setters, and is thrilled about including them in the label's own pieces.

"That's a lot of different influences all in one, but it's what makes it fun to work with. It's also what makes it possible to dress in Ganni from top to bottom without looking like you're only wearing one label," Ditte told Vogue.co.uk.

"As for Kirsten Dunst we love her girl-next-door-with-serious-star-potential-air and Vanessa Paradis, well what can we say? She's been oozing cool since she was 15 and still has this aura of mystique that we just can't get enough of. Style-wise, they can both rock faded denim jeans and a Tee look, as well as a full red carpet do."

Ditte says Ganni design for a broad audience. The label likes to include pieces that appeal to a wide range of fashionistas for different kinds of events.

"We like to think of Ganni as mixing the best of past icons but tweaked for the modern everyday girls of today," Ditte explained.

"The key to Ganni's look and allure is that we're not targeting one particular girl. Just like we draw inspiration from very different girls and style icons, we create our collections for a very versatile demography - girls riding their bike to work in Copenhagen, a bartender in Williamsburg, a mum picking up her kid from school, a Dalston journalist and so on and so on."
