VB 'fuming over Vogue job'

Victoria Beckham was apparently initially approached about the job as contributing fashion editor for Vogue UK.

The supermodel was recently announced as Vogue UK’s contributing fashion editor, meaning she will help style shoots and choose models, starting next year.

Apparently British designer Victoria also had her eye on the role and feels slighted now that Kate has bagged the honour.

“Victoria was crushed and felt like Kate had ‘stolen’ her dream job,” a source revealed to British magazine Heat.

“I think she has always been slightly jealous of Kate Moss and the adoration she receives from designers. She’s upset but is trying to focus on the positives – working on her line and her new family home in London.”

Victoria, 39, and has her own successful label and is soon looking to open her first store in the UK capital.

While it might seem the mother-of-four has her hands full, she was apparently sure she would be named Vogue’s contributing editor and keen to take on the challenge.

“Vic has always had a good relationship with Alexandra [Shulman, editor] and expressed an interest in working for them two years ago during a work lunch in London,” the insider explained.

“It has always been Victoria’s dream to work for a fashion magazine, so when this came up and they approached her about it a few months ago, she was beside herself with excitement.

“She knew it wasn’t set in stone and there were other candidates being considered, but she had no idea Kate Moss was in the running and was sure the job would be hers. She kept quiet about the job but was so excited that she told a few friends and family, who were all thrilled.”

Kate’s first issue as contributing editor will be published in spring next year.
