Whitney Port: My collection has matured

Whitney Port feels that she has "grown" as a fashion designer.

The Hills reality star-turned-fashionista is planning to unveil fall 2012 designs from her Whitney Eve line at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City next month.

Whitney is happy with the maturity of this collection and is eager to reveal it.

"My collection has grown so much over the past few years, and the next step for me as a designer was to put on my own runway show," Whitney told People magazine in a press release.

"I am so excited to show on schedule as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, and can't wait to show my new fall collection on the runway."

Whitney designs cute party dresses as well as sleek menswear inspired looks. She wants every cosmopolitan woman on the go to feel comfortable in her clothes.

"[My ideal customer is] a girl who's career oriented and motivated but also likes to have a good time," Whitney explained to the magazine last August when speaking of her brand's inspiration.

"[It's] really colourful and really a mix of business sophisticate with a funky street-girl aesthetic - the good mix of L.A. and New York vibes."

Whitney Eve was launched in 2008 and has amassed a celebrity following that includes Heidi Klum, Giuliana Rancic and Kim Kardashian.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will be held in New York City next month from February 9-16.
