Whitney Port 'thrilled' about TV role

Whitney Port is "thrilled and honoured" to be appearing as a judge on Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model.

The reality TV beauty has joined the line-up alongside new addition male model Tyson Beckford - and seasoned judges Elle Macpherson and Julien Macdonald.

Whitney has taken to her personal blog to gush about her exciting new venture in the fashion world.

"I'm so excited to finally be able to share some very exciting news with you - I will be joining Elle Macpherson, Julien Macdonald and Tyson Beckford as a judge on Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model! I'm thrilled about this new opportunity in my career and I am honoured to have been asked to work alongside industry icons who I truly respect and admire," she wrote.

Whitney rose to fame on hit TV show The Hills and has since become a style icon in her own right. The 26-year-old star was a former fashion contributor for Teen Vogue and has worked for Diana von Furstenberg.

She also launched her own clothing label Whitney Eve in 2008.

Whitney can't wait to get stuck into her new role and has promised fans she will keep them up-to-date with the latest goings-on.

"I've worked as a judge before, but I am especially looking forward to this particular role because it's based around the thing in life I'm passionate about; fashion. It's also a pretty nice perk that I'll be picking up and moving to the UK for a few months for filming :)," she wrote.

"We start shooting in a few weeks and I cannot wait! I'll keep you all posted here on my blog with behind-the-scenes pics and updates so stay tuned (sic)."
