Zoë Kravitz has ditched her long mermaid braids for a short new bob as she prepares to start work on the new Divergent movie.

The 26-year-old actress plays Christina in the Divergent movie series. And as she prepares to shoot the next installment in the franchise, The Divergent Series: Allegiant – Part 1, Zoë has updated her appearance for the role.

Posting a shot of her new look on Instagram, the star's former long braids have been swapped for a chin-length wavy bob.

Zoë captioned the shot: “She’s baaaaccckkkk. #Christina #allegiantpt1".

It also appears she may have lightened her ‘do a couple of shades as it now appears more of a chestnut brown than the raven it was before.

Since shooting to fame as an actress in her own right, Zoë has also made a name for herself as one to watch on the style front.

Whether she’s just out and about or posing on the red carpet, Zoë rarely gets it wrong when it comes to her outfit choices.

And in a previous interview the stunning star, who is the daughter of musician Lenny Kravtiz and actress Lisa Bonet, said she’s all about mixing things up as much as she can.

“I feel like my style is always changing, so I think it's hard to nail down,” she told Essence.com. “My style is really inspired by whatever I'm listening to or reading or watching, I'm always trying to embody the things that are inspiring me, just for fun. But I think it's always very important to be comfortable and just kind of expressive, if you take fashion too seriously then you lose the fun of it I think you should always take the risk.”
