Zoe Saldana's SAG hair explained

Zoe Saldana's Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards look was deliberately "'not too perfect", says her hairstylist.

The actress wowed on the red carpet in a sweeping white gown with a sexy thigh-high split, but opted to keep her tresses simple with an undone up do.

Stylist Mara Roszak wanted to create a "not too perfect style by adding texture and movement to the hair, while keeping it modern and fresh".

Mara has explained how to re-create the beauty's look.

According to Beauty High, she began by applying mousse throughout Zoe's wet hair before giving it a "rough dry". She then took a three-quarter-inch barrel curling iron to add waves to the star's tresses.

She rotated the iron "in the direction of the curl" to perfect the look.

Once Zoe's whole head was curled, Mara sprayed Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz on the hair to "break up the wave and add texture".

Zoe's locks were then "loosely" pulled back into a low ponytail, which was split into two sections, braided and wrapped around into a bun.

Mara secured the bun in place and added a "dab" of styling paste and "defined a few pieces" around Zoe's face.

The gorgeously understated look was finished with a spritz of hairspray.
