Ben is making tracks back home

By Eddie McIlwaine

Glenarm-born singer/songwriter Ben Glover will take to the stage at Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart on Thursday, March 30, as part of his Emigrant Tour - named after his latest album.

Ben, who is now based in Nashville, Tennessee, is back home to showcase the album, which features six traditional folk songs and four original compositions, with Ben addressing the personal challenge of immigration.

"Over the past couple of years, I have been going through the process of getting my US green card, so the reality of immigration was very present in my world," he explained.

Ben found himself face-to-face with the bigger questions posed by the process. "Contemplations like 'what and where is home?' were never far from my thoughts," he said.

Title track Emigrant will be played at the concert, which Glover started writing while on a rural retreat back home in Ireland.
