You always know summer is over when the Last Night of the Proms arrives. Tomorrow night, as has become the custom over the last number of years, BBC Northern Ireland presents its own Last Night of the Proms in the Titanic Quarter.

Noel Thompson, Claire McCollum and John Toal introduce the biggest classical music party of the year. This event will bring together some internationally acclaimed performers from home and around the world.

They will be performing alongside the Ulster Orchestra under the baton of David Brophy, in a programme which combines classical and contemporary music and a few Proms surprises. One of those artists appearing will be Londonderry pianist, Ruth McGinley, who has recently returned triumphantly to the concert platform as a solo player with the release of a new CD called 'Reconnection'. She will also be doing a solo piano tour of the province later this month for Moving On Music.
