We ask Peter Corry about his most favourite things
The 48-year-old is a director and producer but is best known to many as a singer. He divides his time between Holywood, Co Down, and London. He has three children.
My best moment
Producing Les Miserables in concert at the Odyssey Arena with over 1,000 performers. That was in 2001 and at the time it was the largest ever performance. I must have enjoyed it because I've been producing ever since.
My best song
That's almost impossible to choose but one of them is Belleau Wood by Garth Brooks – am I allowed to mention him? That's my best song for singing. To listen to, it would have to be Stevie Wonder (below).
My best way to relax
I like to have a glass of wine on a summer's night, especially if the garden I'm in is in Tuscany. It's somewhere I go out to quite a bit.
My best job
These days I do everything – I like directing and producing but singing in front of a live audience is still the tops. I've been singing professionally for 21 years and I've never looked back.
My best advice
Follow your dreams but always have a Plan B. I can't remember who told it to me, I might have made it up myself. My Plan B turned out to be producing, which meant I could create work for myself.
My best gift
My mum and dad gave me my first car when I was 17 – it was a Toyota 1000 and it wasn't so much that car that I loved as what it represented. It was freedom and independence for me at that age.
My best achievement
My annual Christmas show, The Music Box. I know it's a plug but the show is now in its sixth year and I'm very proud of it. It started off at the Ulster Tranport Museum then moved to the Theatre At The Mill, Newtownabbey, and now it's at the Waterfront Hall for four shows this year.
What I'm so pleased about is that it takes place at Christmas in Belfast.
There's a lovely atmosphere with a cast of nearly 200 and a candlelit procession through the audience and carols sung right throughout the room.
My best buy
Earplugs for my hotel room and when I fly, as they give me peace and quiet no matter where I am. I really am Victor Meldrew when I travel – and I travel quite a bit.
From today Peter will be searching for a new singing sensation, on air and online with Citybeat and SPAR Northern Ireland, to take part in his forthcoming production of The Music Box. For details, visit Facebook and search for The Music Box or SPAR Northern Ireland
My best movie
This is the other one that's impossible as it depends on my mood but I did just watch this one last night, Field Of Dreams, starring Kevin Costner. I love movies and good TV series – The West Wing is another favourite. If you travel a lot then you find that you do watch a lot of movies and TV series. I'm getting really in to House of Cards at the moment and I love Seinfeld.
My best book
The Shadow Of The Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I love the story, his imagination, the dark side to it. I love that it's set in Barcelona which is one of my favourite cities.
It just has all the ingredients for me.
