Zoolander 2 (Magnum edition) review: Ben fashions a shoddy sequel
Gun-toting assassins on motorcycles chase Justin Bieber through the labyrinthine streets of Rome.
As he takes his final breath, the pop star adopts the 'Blue Steel' facial pout that was once the signature of male model Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and posts a selfie online. Agent Melanie Valentina (Penelope Cruz) connects the death of Bieber to similar cases involving Madonna, Usher and Bruce Springsteen. She employs her womanly wiles to recruit Derek and good friend Hansel (Owen Wilson) into the ranks of Interpol to unmask the perpetrators.
Evidence leads to fashion doyenne Alexanya Atoz (Kristen Wiig) and psychopath Jacobim Mugatu (Will Ferrell). Meanwhile, Derek orchestrates an awkward reunion with his plus-size son (Cyrus Arnold). Zoolander 2 is gormless, and mustering affection for the lead character is a mission: impossible.
